Religious School

Welcome to the Mispallelim Religious School

At Ohev Shalom’s Mispallelim religious school, we seek to help our students build Jewish knowledge, as well as a sense of Jewish community and identity.  As a staff, we continue to seek new ways in which to help our students have spiritually authentic Jewish experiences and to ask meaningful Jewish questions at every developmental stage. We believe that, beyond passively “receiving” a Jewish education, students and families have the exciting task of actively constructing their own Jewish identities, as they encounter inspiring ideas, surprising experiences and caring role models. We aspire to give our families the tools to do that work in a way that engages the whole person – heart, intellect, body/senses, and spirit.

Thanks to our teachers, aides, students and families for a wonderful year – we faced great challenges, and responded with great creativity and commitment.

Mispallelim in the coming year

We hope that there will be a vaccine available to most of our students sometime this coming Fall.  While we wait for that time, we will continue to use masks and distancing, and we will learn outside whenever the weather allows.

Safety information will be updated as conditions and vaccination opportunities evolve.
