Want to brush up on your Hebrew? Talk Talmud over pizza? Play Mah Jongg? At Ohev, learning has no age limit and can happen anywhere. We offer ongoing study as well as special events such as our Scholar-in-Residence Weekend. Here are some of our ongoing learning opportunities:


Bible Study Class

Bible ClassOne of our greatest Ohev Shalom institutions. No background required, no knowledge of Hebrew reading necessary! We seek to gain new insight, understanding, and appreciation for the ancient texts of our tradition. Join us once, or join us every week.

Once a month, an ever-growing and changing group of congregants and friends joins Rabbi Gerber to have lunch and talk Talmud. Nosh n’ Drosh
Periodic Shabbat mornings, 9:45 AM

Join Rabbi Gerber for fascinating discussions about a host of interesting topics while enjoying a mid-morning meal. Shabbat services begin at 9, Nosh n’ Drosh takes place BEFORE the Torah service at 9:45 AM, and services resume afterwards. Dates: December 19, 2015, February 20, 2016, April 16, 2016.


Adult Enrichment Lecture Series

Ohev Shalom is very proud to host an impressive group of speakers on varied subjects.  Lectures, which begin at 7:30 PM, are preceded by a service at 7:15 PM. Recent topics include mindfulness meditation, Book of Chronicles, and Israeli cinema. Refreshments will be served. Upcoming lectures are:
